This conference and training school will be dedicated to many of the recent research accomplishments in the area of physical and interfacial properties of multiphase polymers and polymer composite systems. The content of the proposed conference and training school is unique since it will pay a particular attention to the different length scales (macro, micro and nano) relevant for a deep understanding of the structure-property relationships of nano-composite materials. It will cover the major findings and observations in the field of morphological, interfacial, physical and thermophysical properties of multiphase polymers and polymer composite systems from macro to nano length scales.
The conference will be organised around three areas:
- Multiscale modeling and simulation of polymer-based composites/nanocomposites
- Design and advanced characterisation of polymer composites/nanocomposites
- Processing, application and recycling of polymer composites/nanocomposites
Who should attend? The conference and training school will be a very valuable information source for graduate and post graduate students, engineering students, research scholars (primarily in the field of Material Science, Thermal science and Polymer science, Polymer Engineers from industry and university and college Faculties)
The purpose of the training school (7 June 2011): Lectures and seminars will be presented in June 7, 2011 and only for PhD students
The training school will cover: - Fundamentals, Theory & Characterisation - Manufacturing and Recycling
The purpose of this conference (8, 9 and June 2011): - to present the last development on composite polymer systems for Polymer physicists, chemists, engineers students and researchers - to develop and improve dialogue between industry and research (i.e. to help filling the gap between the research advances obtained on model (nano)composites and the requirements for the use of such materials at the industrial scale) - to discuss the recent developments and cutting edge challenges in this field
